WEEK OF MAY 1, 2017

PRAISE GOD, OUR TEACHER!

“He began teaching them many things.”  Mark 6:24

“Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through the whole countryside. He taught in their synagogues, and everyone praised Him.”  Luke 4:14,15

Jesus, we give You thanks and praise for teaching us. Patience and wisdom flow from You freely as You teach us many things. May all of the students come to You for instruction.

PRAY FOR HEARTS OF FAITH

“We live by faith, not by sight.”  II Corinthians 5:7

“Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”  Mark 5:34

God, would you increase our faith. Your word instructs us to live by faith and not in unbelief. We pray that the sons and daughters in our communities would place their faith in You and receive healing-physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

PRAY FOR HEARTS OF GODLY AMBITION

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.”                                                                                                                                                                                                Philippians 2:3

“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands…”                                                                                                                                                                                                          I Thessalonians 4:11

Lord, in the midst of a generation frequently characterized by apathy, we pray that You would create ambition in the hearts of the youth. May this ambition not be selfish, but godly, focused on meeting the needs of others.

Please pray for the students and staff of our area charter schools.

“Prayer crowns God with the honor and glory due His name, and God crowns prayer with assurance and comfort. The most praying souls are the most assured souls.”  Thomas Brooks
