Prayer Strategies

WEEK OF APRIL 10, 2017

PRAISE JESUS, THE LAMB OF GOD!

“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.”  Revelation 21:23

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’”  John 1:29

Jesus, we give You praise for being our sacrifice, the Lamb of God, who takes away our sin when we put our trust in You.

PRAY FOR HEARTS THAT ARE NOT DECEIVED

“Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers.”  James 1:16

“Then the Lord God said to the woman, ‘What is this you have done?’ The woman said, ‘The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”  Genesis 3:13

God, while students are devoting themselves to learning and acquiring knowledge, may they not be deceived. Scripture warns many times about deception so we ask that students and staff would learn to guard their hearts and their minds and to listen to Your voice which will lead them into all truth.

PRAY FOR HEARTS THAT ARE KIND TO THE NEEDY

“He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for what he has done.”  Proverbs 19:17

“He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.”  Proverbs 14:11

Lord, may each of us look beyond ourselves to the needs of others. Give us opportunities to be kind to those who are poor and needy in body, mind or spirit. May we be an open channel for Your work.

Please pray for the students and staff of Swanton Local Schools and their Superintendent, Mr. Jeff Schlade.

“The spectacle of a nation praying is more awe-inspiring than the explosion of an atomic bomb. The force of prayer is greater than any possible combination of man-controlled power, because prayer is man’s greatest means of trapping the infinite resources of God.   -J. Edgar Hoover
