Praise our God of Rest!

“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done.” Genesis 2:3

Lord, we give You praise for Your unlimited power, seen in creation. On the seventh day You rested, not because You were tired, but because You had finished this creative work. Thank You for being a God of rest.

Pray for Hearts that Rest in God

“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him.” Psalm 62:5

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14

God, it is clear that the soul of each student needs the hope and rest that are found only in You. Replace the constant activity, noise, performance and dysfunction in each home with the beauty of Your rest.

Pray for Hearts to Respond to Jesus’ Invitation to Rest

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’”                      Mark 6:31.

Whether the burdens we carry are physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, may each person in our school community respond to Your invitation, Jesus, to go with You to a quiet place and get some rest. You are the one who fills us with peace, joy, strength and unconditional love as we rest in You.

We pray for the students and staff of Bedford Public Schools and their Superintendent, Dr. Carl Shultz.

“The great threat to our prayer and our meditation on the word of God is good ministry activity.”  -John Piper, American pastor and author. Born 1946.
