Praise God, our Source of Joy
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.’ Luke 2:9-11
God, we praise you because you loved us so much that you sent your son, Jesus, into the world so we can experience joy that brings eternal hope. The joy we experience at Christmas and throughout the year comes from our salvation. Thank you, God, for making a way for us in this dark world.
Pray for Hearts that Rejoice with Joy
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:8,9
Lord, we lift up this school community to you, praying for every teacher, administrator, student and staff member to experience true Joy this Christmas season, as they put their hope in You, the author and perfecter of our faith. Particularly with __________, we pray for a supernatural response of joy to overcome all feelings of doubt or sorrow. In Jesus’ name, amen.
