Praise Jesus, Who Obeyed the Father!

“…He humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross.”  Philippians 2:8

Jesus, we give You praise for being obedient to the Father’s will, even though it meant suffering and death. Thank You so much that Your obedience brought the gift of forgiveness and eternal life.

Pray for Hearts that Obey the Lord

“Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh.” Jonah 3:3

“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands…” 2 John :6

Just as Jonah went to Nineveh, we pray that students and staff would obediently go where You are sending them. Give them grace, especially when the task is difficult.

Pray for Hearts that Obey Earthly Authorities

“Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you…” Joshua 1:17

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1

Lord, we pray that prompt obedience to authority would not be the exception but the rule in our classrooms and homes. May new thought patterns be created in the minds of our children so that their first inclination is to fully obey You, their parents and their teachers, for this is right.

We pray for the students and staff of Montpelier Exempted Village Schools and their Superintendent, Dr. Jamison Grime.

“Whenever the conviction of God’s Spirit comes there is the softening of the whole nature to obey; but if the obedience is not instant there will come a metallic hardening and a corrupting of the guidance of God.”     -Oswald Chambers, early 20th century Scottish Baptist evangelist
