Praise God, our Source of Rest

“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6

God, You are our source of rest. Time with You restores our weary souls. Resting in You brings us peace and equips us for the work you have for us. Forgive us when we fail to rest in you and strive to do everything on our own strength. Thank You for your rest.

Pray for Hearts to find Rest in Jesus

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”       Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus, may those who know You come to You for rest. We pray that they would receive Your gentleness and experience a lifting of their burdens. As believers in our school community find Your rest, help others to see the difference in them and turn to You, too. We praise You that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light.

Pray for Hearts to Practice Rest

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.”             Exodus 20:8-10

Father, we pray that there would be a good rhythm to the remainder of the school year, that students and staff would create time for rest in the midst of deadlines and tests. Grant wisdom to those creating schedules and help them include times of rest within the plans. Renew in us as a people the importance of the practice of Sabbath rest. We specifically pray for rest in the area of ______________________.

Prayer is a bridge from our mess to God’s rest!” unknown

Mission: to see every school covered in prayer so that the power and presence of God are experienced in our communities.
