Praise Our Thankful God

“Father, I thank You that You have heard me.” John 11:41

“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.” Matthew 14:19

Jesus, we are grateful for Your heart of gratitude so beautifully revealed in Your interactions with Your Father.  You are perfect in all of Your ways. We give You praise.

Pray for Thankful Hearts

“I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.” Psalm 9:1

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore, my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him.”  Psalm 28:7

God, thanks for Your work in our school communities. We see and experience great needs but we are grateful for Your deeds in the physical and the spiritual realms. May You be the strength, shield and helper of each person in this school, producing hearts overflowing with joy.

Pray for All to Experience Grateful Hearts at Thanksgiving

“Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.’” Hebrews 12:28

Lord, we ask You to prepare our hearts to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. We express our gratitude for the miraculous ways You have created and sustained our country. However, we recognize that many are not experiencing or recognizing Your great deeds and that brokenness can exist even if a home is filled with delicious food. “You are close to the brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18. We ask You to meet every need.

“When I go to God, I want to thank Him, first and most, for the kindness that remembers me even when I forget Him.”                                                                                       -John Gossip, Professor of Christian Ethics
