Praise God, Our Light

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5

God, we praise You that You are light. There is no darkness in You. We thank You that the darkness cannot overcome You. You are worthy of all praise.

Pray for Hearts to Seek Your Light

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

Jesus, during this Christmas season when we celebrate Your birth, we pray that students and staff would seek the light of Your Word for direction. We pray that students would connect with churches, afterschool Bible clubs, and release time programs where they can learn about You. And we pray for school staff to engage in Bible studies and church communities where they can allow Your word to light their paths. May students and staff experience the transformation that comes from walking in Your light.

Pray for Hearts to Shine their Lights

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. “ Matthew 5:16

God, we pray that believing students and staff would shine their lights through good deeds, especially in regards to ___________________________________. May students be kind and encouraging to one another. May school staff shine their lights by supporting each other and sharing ideas. And we pray that You would be glorified as the lights of believers within this school join together and shine brightly for You.

“God never gives us discernment in order that we may criticize, but that we may intercede.” – Oswald Chambers, early 20th century evangelist
