Praise God, Our Source of Gratitude
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16
God, Your will is for us to have hearts of gratitude, and we have confidence in knowing You provide us with all things we need. Therefore, Almighty God we thank You for being our Source of gratitude. Thank You for changing our hearts to see the blessings and promises You have in store for us. We are so grateful for all You provide and especially for the joy and contentment that comes from knowing and following You!
Pray for Hearts to Experience Gratitude
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:4-5
Sovereign God, despite our circumstances, You provide us with unexplainable joy and gratitude. You are greater than all that is happening in our lives and around us, even ____________. Help us to remember this world is broken and only our temporary home. As Christians, You promise us eternity with You in Heaven; we are so grateful for this promise and the peace that it provides to us!
Pray for Hearts to Demonstrate Gratitude
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
Lord, give us hearts of gratitude for all the promises You reveal to us in Your Word. Help us to understand and lean into these truths and trust You to guide us throughout our days as we share these truths with others.
“A prayer that’s seeking passion should not be about manufacturing a better feeling or jostling up a better mood. It’s simply about holding out your open hands—in thanksgiving first, in gratitude for God’s faithfulness and His goodness and His assured, accomplished victory over the enemy. Then asking. Asking for what He already wants to give you. Then waiting (expecting) to receive the promise of newness and freshness from His Spirit as you go along, more each day—praying until, as the prophet Hosea said . . . He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.” (Hos. 6:3) Priscilla Shirer, author and Bible teacher
Mission: to see every school covered in prayer so that the power and presence of God are experienced in our communities.
