Praise God For His Compassion
“But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” Psalm 86:15
We praise You, God, for being compassionate and full of mercy toward us. We thank you for being slow to anger and loving us faithfully, even when we don’t deserve it. Through Your word, You teach us how to be compassionate and we praise You for setting that example, so we can be compassionate to others.
Pray for Hearts to Show Compassion
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Father, we pray for hearts to show compassion toward others, just as You show compassion toward us. We pray for those in our school communities to be aware of the suffering and pain around them and to keep their eyes open for those who may need some compassion. Lord, help teachers, staff and administrators today be extra alert in ways they can reach their students. Help them to have the strength, courage and faith it takes to show up for their students every day in a compassionate way.
Pray for Hearts of Compassion
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12
Lord, we declare your compassion over every situation in this school. We pray for Your will to be done, in this specific situation, _____________________________, with love and compassion. May hearts be in line with those in need of an extra caring word, an act of kindness, or a specific concern causing turmoil. As compassion is shown, we pray for hearts to be open to the amazing gift of Your salvation.
