Praise Our Humble God
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29
Almighty God, in a world full of comparison and pride, calm our hearts and help us to turn our eyes toward You. We praise Your gentle spirit and humble heart; make us more like You. You are glorious God and set the perfect example for our lives. Fill us with truth and humility about who we are through Your son Jesus Christ.
Pray for Hearts To Be Humbled
“He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.” Luke 1:52
Sovereign God, You are the only one on the throne. Help us to recognize when we have exalted ourselves above others, creating a hierarchy that belittles others and lifts us up. We especially ask for humility among leaders, whether adults or students, in our schools as they set an example for others. Stir in their hearts true humility and give them wisdom and discernment in all circumstances.
Pray for Hearts That Are Humble
“For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.” Psalm 149:4
Lord, thank You for those who have humbled hearts. What a wise and courageous choice they have made, and one that honors and glorifies You! Thank You for delighting in them and rewarding them with victory. Give them encouragement that even if their circumstances do not seem victorious, You are exalting them! We thank You for the following individuals who have humbled themselves before You and are leading by Your example _________________________.
