Praise God, Our Defender!
“I will defend this city and save it.” Isaiah 37:35
We praise You, our defender. You alone know the battle raging for our school community and our city in both the visible and invisible realms. You alone have the power and desire to defend and save us. Thank You, God!
Pray for Hearts to Experience God’s Defense
“The Lord is your mighty defender; perfect and just in all His ways.” Deuteronomy 32:4
“He will defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy…” Psalm 72:4
Lord, we ask that each person in this school district will experience You as defender, especially those who are the children of the needy. Physical, mental, and emotional needs abound; needs for hope, friendship, purpose, focus, provision, love and forgiveness. Defend them against unkind words and actions; hopelessness and despair; selfishness and pride.
Pray for Hearts to Experience God as Spiritual Defender
“When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, He will send them a savior and defender, and He will rescue them.” Isaiah 19:20
“If anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” I John 2:1
Jesus, You offered Yourself on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins. You speak to the Father in our defense. Although not addressed in schools in America, forgiveness and reconciliation with our Creator is our greatest need. May students and staff come to trust in You as their savior and defender who speaks for them, not against them.
“Common prayer does not dispense us from private prayer. The one sustains the other. Let us each day take time to renew our personal intimacy with Jesus Christ.” -Roger Schutz, founder of a French monastery. 1915-2005.
Mission: to see every school covered in prayer so that the power and presence of God are experienced in our communities.
