Praise God, Who Perseveres

“…fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

Jesus, we do fix our eyes on You, as You demonstrated to us the ultimate perseverance in Your pursuit of a relationship with us. Let us pursue You with the demonstration of the same love and compassion for those around us to see.

We Pray for Hearts to Persevere

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

We pray for teachers, staff and students who are struggling at this point in the year to finish strong. Please encourage them and allow them to see the goal of finishing well, even in the midst of _______________. Send people around them to encourage them and cheer them on as they strive toward the end of the year with the same enthusiasm and hope that they had at the beginning.

Finally, We Pray for Hearts to Encourage Others to Persevere

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,   being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience…” Colossians 1:9, 11

God, we pray for those who know You to display the encouragement they get from their relationship and confidence in You to encourage others to persevere in their work in this final quarter of the year. Let them see the things they have accomplished this year and be encouraged that You will complete the things that You have begun in the classroom and individual lives.

“Perseverance in prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance but rather laying hold of God’s willingness. Our sovereign God has purposed to sometimes require persevering prayer as the means to accomplish His will.” William Thrasher, Graduate Professor, Author, and Speaker.

Mission: to see every school covered in prayer so that the power and presence of God are experienced in our communities.
