Praise God, our Protector!
“May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.” Psalm 20:1
“But the Lord is faithful; and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Lord, we praise You for Your powerful protection over us and the children of our city. You are faithful and will strengthen and protect us from the evil one.
Pray for Hearts to Extend Protection to Others
“…may Your love and Your truth always protect me.” Psalm 40:11
“Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.” Proverbs 2:11
May our school communities be emotional safe zones as students and staff extend protection to each other by speaking the truth in love. Much interaction is online today, so we claim Your protection over the vehicle of social media. God, as understanding and discretion are exercised in wisdom, we trust that Your protection will cover students’ minds and hearts.
Pray for School Communities to be Places of Protection
God, how helpless we felt as a nation 20 years ago as we watched the attacks of 9/11. The insulation we had experienced from foreign attack was suddenly torn away. Today, we look to You for safety and protection from violence; physical and emotional. Although we do not understand Your thoughts and ways, what You allow and what Your hand stays, we acknowledge our trust in You. Whether students are learning in school buildings or in their homes, may they experience Your safety and protection.
“Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.” Psalm 5:11
“Trouble and perplexity drive me to prayer and prayer drives from me perplexity and trouble.” -Philip Melanchthon, 1500’s theologian
Mission: to see every school covered in prayer so that the power and presence of God are experienced in our communities.
